Children
Every minute some where in the world, a child is infected with the HIV virus. The virus is usually transmitted via the mother; either in the womb, during the birth or through breast milk. Even though 90% of these children are born in Africa, the number of children infected with HIV in other parts of the world is rapidly increasing. It is estimated that more than 2.9 million children are living with HIV worldwide.
