 Shared Futures

We are motivated to undertake whatever is possible within the scope of our power, to see to it that children with HIV/AIDS, even though it may be a small group, will have a better life, better prospects and subsequently better future.

How do we work?

Sharedfutures invests in non-profit organisations in the Caribbean which are active in the prevention of AIDS and which focus on the improvement of children’s lives.
Only projects which are hands-on, practically-oriented, and which can demonstrate quantifiable results will be eligible for our investment.

We not only provide capital, but more importantly offer advice and management support. We build strong relationships with local organisations acting as strategic advisor and coach.
It is our goal to improve standards of service to children by providing the support necessary to help strong leaders create effective and robust organisations dedicated to caring for children in need.

Our approach requires that we develop a close, long-term relationship with the local organisation. In doing so we build trust, locate opportunities and create the conditions necessary to ensure that our success is directly reflected in that of the local organisations. For that reason we refer to the local organisations as partners, instead of recipients or beneficiaries.

Sharedfutures adheres to the principle of ‘local ownership’. Local organisations initiate the project concept, form and shape the proposal and are responsible for the execution of the project.
